OKI plays Japanese folk music on the tonkori harp, layered with psychedelic soundscapes and meditative dub excursions.

About the venue: Alice

ALICE is a regional music venue in Nørrebro, formed in 2018 from the merger of the former venues Global and Jazzhouse. Named after American jazz pianist and composer Alice Coltrane, it focuses on music that rarely finds space on Danish stages - from global roots, folk and jazz/improv to sound art, new composed music, metal and electronic experiments. The venue also stages concerts at external locations such as Marmorkirken and Glyptoteket.

About: OKI

Oki Kano grew up unaware of his Ainu heritage and discovered the tonkori as an adult - since then he has almost single-handedly revived the instrument, placing it at the heart of a sound that crosses Ainu tradition with reggae, dub and Afrobeat. His OKI Dub Ainu Band has toured the world and made its full U.S. debut in 2026.
