Open Fire Station Day for Daycare Centres at Hvidovre Fire Station

On Friday, 18 September 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00, Hvidovre Fire Station opens its doors to daycare centres. Children and adults can explore the emergency services' daily work through child-friendly activities at their own pace, with no fixed programme.

The day includes opportunities to see fire engines and equipment up close, meet firefighters and learn about their work, discover fire safety and basic firefighting, get an introduction to first aid, visit the children's fire house, try the children's fire truck and a real fire hose, colour in stories about Ildefanten (the fire safety mascot), and meet Ildefanten in person.

Packed lunches can be eaten in the fire station's yard or, in bad weather, in the garage. The event is aimed at daycare centres, and it is the institution - not the family - that registers the children. School classes are referred to Fire Prevention Week events in week 40. Families and other interested parties can find upcoming events at hbr.dk/arrangementer.

Participation is free, but registration is required as places are limited. The address is Avedøre Havnevej 37, 2650 Hvidovre.
