Exhibition: SAMLING

Hartmann's paintings work with layers: at first glance you encounter color and structure, but if you hold your gaze, hidden figures begin to emerge. The shifts and variations in the stripes create a sense of both movement and depth - something past and something in motion.

The gallery at Hvidovre Main Library provides a natural frame for the works. Book spines forming rhythmic rows of color fields echo the paintings' own visual language, and the library's narratives - scattered through letters and syntax - find a visual echo in the canvases.
