Crisis Preparedness: Survive on Your Own for 3 Days

Crisis Preparedness lecture - prepare your family: Monday 2 November 2026, 18:00–20:00, Biblioteket i Herning, Herning.

The Danish Emergency Management Agency visits Biblioteket i Herning to share what you can do when critical situations arise - for example, if the power goes out for several days. You will gain practical knowledge about how to prepare yourself, your family, and your neighbors so you can manage in your home while emergency services prioritize society's critical functions such as hospitals and nursing homes.

All participants receive "My Checklist" - a tool for setting up home preparedness according to government recommendations. The lecture is free but requires a ticket.

The event takes place in Room ABC and is part of the thematic collaboration "Together on Preparedness" - a partnership between DR, Østifterne, Danske folkeoplysnings samråd, and Bibliotekerne. The collaboration focuses on preparedness as a practical, social, mental, and cultural matter: how we understand crises, talk about them, and help each other when everyday life is challenged.
