Folk High School Evening: Myths and Vikings

What is a myth, really? The word encompasses both tall tales and mythological narratives tied to faith and religion - and regardless of form, myths always tell us something about ourselves as humans. This evening explores Norse mythology: why myths are valuable, and how we shape them while they shape us.

Karen Bek-Pedersen, external lecturer at the Institute for Communication and Culture - Nordic Languages and Literature, has researched Norse mythology for over 20 years and has written the book "Tænkepausen Myter" (The Myth Pause), among other works.

The evening opens and closes with a song from the Folk High School Songbook, and coffee and pastries are served during the break.

NOTE: Registration is required by Friday, September 4 at 2 p.m. due to catering. Ticket sales and registration open August 4 at 10 a.m. The "Student" ticket applies to students, pupils, apprentices, and young people under 30 receiving transfer income.
