Viking Saturday

Aabenraa Library opens the Viking Age this Saturday. Tents are set up outside the library where you can meet Vikings and participate in activities about what it meant to live as a Viking. Inside the library, a Viking craftsperson makes jewelry for women's costumes, and there are books about the Viking Age and Norse mythology to explore.

At 1 p.m., author Kenneth Bøgh Andersen and illustrator Peter Madsen give a lecture about the Valhalla universe - from Peter's classic comic series about Thor, Loki and the other Norse gods to Kenneth's novel adaptation of Thjalfi and Röskva's adventures in Asgard. The two discuss how to create a universe that plays with Norse mythology and the process behind adapting the comic series as a novel.

Tickets for the lecture must be purchased in advance. Ticket sales open August 4 at 10 a.m.
