Art and Nature: Michael Stoltze — Nygadehuset, Aabenraa

Michael Stoltze, a biologist and Ph.D., gives a lecture on the connections between nature's development and its encounter with culture and humanity. He draws threads between environmental history, sensory experience, nature policy, and future challenges - and shows how nature is not just an ecosystem, but also a source of art, myths, and human narratives.

Stoltze has spent decades communicating the links between nature, culture, and human life. He has written several key works on Danish nature, including "Danish Dragonflies", "Danish Nature", and "Denmark's National Parks".

The lecture is arranged in collaboration with Kunst❤Aabenraa, which from August 16 to September 26, 2026 exhibits works by Aabenraa artist Harald W. Lauesen and Copenhagen-based Nikolaj Callesen. The exhibition explores nature and nature experiences across generations. The lecture is supported by the BHJ Foundation and the Cultural Council of Aabenraa Municipality.

Ticket sales open August 4 at 10:00. The "Student" ticket applies to students, pupils, apprentices, and young people under 30 receiving transfer income.
