'The Land of Dreams' at Brønshøj Vandtårn

Gaudium - The Land of Dreams concert: Saturday 31 October 2026, 15:00–18:00, Brønshøj Vandtårn, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 100–130 kr.

For All Saints' Day, Vokalensemblet Gaudium presents two concerts at Brønshøj Vandtårn under the title 'The Land of Dreams' on October 31st at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

The centrepiece is newly composed songs by Jesper Koch set to texts by English poet William Blake, composed specifically for the ensemble and the water tower's acoustics. The texts range from the grand existential perspectives in 'Auguries of Innocence' to the dialogue between father and son in the closing movement 'The Land of Dreams'. The programme also features choral music by Joanna Marsh, Kerensa Briggs, Gabriella Gullin, Vagn Holmboe, and Edward Elgar. At these concerts, 'Dreamland' by the choir's conductor Gustav Lundgaard Seistrup will receive its world premiere.

Vokalensemblet Gaudium is a classical mixed choir for young singers in Copenhagen, consisting of 32 singers aged 18-35. The ensemble has existed since 2020 and has established itself as a platform for new Danish choral music through collaborations with both established and emerging composers.

Brønshøj Vandtårn is unheated, so bring warm clothing. Coffee, tea, and cake are available during the concerts.
