BACKGROUND
Nature tourism is about letting visitors walk, cycle, sail, swim, birdwatch or seek peace in nature - while creating local jobs and economic activity. The premise of the debate is that nature conservation and tourism can go hand in hand 🌿🏖️, and that tourists who spend time in nature typically develop a greater understanding of its value 🦎🐟.
The panel will discuss how Odsherred can attract more of these visitors, and how the local community can thereby develop a direct interest in protecting nature ⛵🚴♂️.
ORGANISERS
The debate is arranged by the group 'Nature Tourism in Odsherred', which consists of the Outdoor Council West Zealand, Danish Hiking Association West Zealand, DOF West Zealand, DN Odsherred, Sanddobberne Camping, NaturplejerKorpset and United Summer House Owners in Odsherred (FSiO) - in collaboration with Odsherred Libraries and VisitOdsherred.
