Ask Elklit, professor of clinical psychology at the Center for Psychotraumatology, Department of Psychology, Syddansk Universitet (SDU), presents a lecture on "Psychotraumatology - Understanding and Treatment".

Drawing on decades of research, he explores what psychological trauma is, why some people develop PTSD or complex PTSD while others do not, and how our understanding of traumatization has evolved over time. The lecture also examines how best to meet and support people dealing with the consequences of violence, abuse, loss, or other serious hardships - including what it concretely means to work in a trauma-informed way.

This lecture is for anyone seeking deeper insight into how trauma affects people and what actually helps.
