Nordkraft Big Band brings "The Art of The Piano" to Onsild Hallen in Hobro on Thursday, 8 October 2026 at 19:30. The concert explores the piano and its role in jazz music under the direction of conductor Remy Le Boeuf, featuring works by some of today's most prominent pianists. This is one of four Danish concert dates for the ensemble, with additional performances scheduled in Ringkøbing and Haderslev later in the autumn. Admission is free.

About: Nordkraft Big Band

Northern Jutland's own professional big band since 2010 - 17 musicians drawing on classic big band tradition while reaching into new genres. The ensemble has worked with leading international jazz figures and shares the Grammy honour for "First Snow" from 2026.

Nordkraft Big Band won the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition for the piece "First Snow" at the 68th Grammy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on February 1, 2026, in collaboration with conductor Remy Le Boeuf and vocalist Danielle Wertz.

On October 10, 2025, Nordkraft Big Band released the album "Everyday Synesthesia: Sonic Pictures", created in collaboration with DMA-winning musician and composer Rasmus Holm.

On November 23, 2025, Nordkraft Big Band organized the very first Northern Jutland Big Band Day, where 125 big band musicians of all ages from all over Northern Jutland gathered for workshops and joint performances.

About: Remy Le Boeuf

Remy Le Boeuf is an American jazz musician and composer who studied at Berklee College of Music. He plays alto saxophone and leads the ensemble Assembly of Shadows, known for blending jazz with orchestral and cinematic textures. His compositions have been performed by groups including the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
