Amalie Langballe was born in 1992 and works as an author and journalist at Weekendavisen. Her debut came in 2019 with the novel FORSVINDINGSNUMRE, which tells the story of a daughter trying to find herself after her mother's death. The book earned her the Bogforum Debut Prize that same year.
In 2025, ELSKENDE was published, a novel set in a medieval brothel - marked by bodily fluids and scents - and it was nominated for the Readers' Book Prize in 2026. Her latest book, NYE DYDER, uses the Bible as a conversation partner, as the author encounters the old texts and reflects herself in them.
