Nature Conservation at Staals Mose - volunteer: Saturday 14 November 2026, 10:00–14:00, Sønderborg.

Staals Mose is a restored wetland in Sønderskoven, known for grass snakes and several toad species. Since grazing with livestock is not possible here, we help maintain the vegetation ourselves.

Each year, we use scythes and rakes to cut back vegetation along the eastern part of the wetland. The aim is to create ideal conditions for breeding toads, which prefer shallow, sheltered water in spring.

Bring practical footwear - tools and gloves are provided. Registration is required for catering purposes and takes place via email.
