Blues Man is the annual tribute to Troels Jensen - Denmark's Mr. Blues, who passed away in 2020 after more than five decades as a central figure on the Danish blues scene. He was instrumental in founding Delta Blues Band, arguably Denmark's first true blues band, and belonged to the generation of musicians who built a vibrant Danish blues scene from the late 1960s onward. Since then, his longtime colleagues from Delta Blues Band, Jørgen Lang and Michael Puggaard-Müller, have also passed away. Blues Man honours those who are no longer with us - and celebrates the pioneering spirit and love of music they sparked, which continues to thrive on the Danish blues scene.

Krølle Erik's Bluesband has roots going back to the first Roskilde Festival in 1971. A few years later, Krølle Erik became part of the music scene around Huset in Magstræde, where he helped build Musikcaféen and other music venues from 1973-76. The band grew out of jam sessions at Huset and later released Live i Vognporten, recorded at the same venue. Krølle Erik has also played in Christianshavns Blues Band and Delta Blues Band and was behind the benefit album Atomkraft? Nej tak. For Blues Man, he takes the stage with Jan Overgaard, Peter Klitgård, Søren Engel, Lars Ringgård and Liv Skotte.

Liv Skotte with Jan Overgaard & Andreas Jacobsen: Liv Skotte continues on stage after Krølle Erik's set with her own programme. She writes her own songs in both Danish and English and moves freely between blues, jazz and rock. She is accompanied by Jan Overgaard on piano and bass, and Andreas Jacobsen on drums.

Delta Blues Band began playing in the late 1960s, when electric Chicago blues was still new on Danish stages. The band introduced the raw blues tradition to Danish audiences with electric guitars, harmonica, piano and a heavy rhythm section - and continues to play to this day. The band consists of Danny Linde, Thomas Puggaard-Müller, Knut Henriksen, Henning Verner, Asmus Jensen and Jacob Krausmann.
