New Voices #2: Ups and Downs, Neighbourhoods and Lies

New Voices #2 - Louise Juul and Louise Urth Olsen: Thursday 22 October 2026, 17:00–18:30, Roskilde Bibliotek, Roskilde. Admission is free.

Two debut authors meet at Roskilde Library for a conversation about neighbourhoods, lies and love - and about writing their first novel. This is the second event in the New Voices series.

Louise Juul and Louise Urth Olsen both made their debut with a collective novel in 2026. In "KH Vanløse", the reader follows the residents of a stairwell in Vanløse: Ulla has just moved in and wants to open a foot clinic with a neighbour discount, Silje struggles to say no, Emma reads crime novels in secret, and Bjørn's girlfriend has left him and their child. In "All the Lies", everyday life in a villa neighbourhood goes on as usual with summer parties and neighbourly relations - until all households except one receive an anonymous letter with a serious accusation.

Louise Juul has studied Danish and journalism and works as a mentor in psychiatry. Louise Urth Olsen holds a degree in Danish and cultural communication and works as a freelance editor, proofreader and translator; she has written children's and young adult literature since 2013.

The event takes place at Scenen at Roskilde Library. Read about access conditions on the library's website.
