Write for Life Film Café: Human Rights Defenders

Write for Life Film Café - letters for human rights defenders: Saturday 28 November 2026, 13:00–16:00, Hovedbiblioteket i Aalborg, Aalborg. Admission is free.

This event is part of Amnesty International's global "Write for Life" campaign, where you can write greetings and letters of support to people imprisoned or persecuted for their work defending human rights. Drop in whenever it suits you. Venue: Folkestuen.

Schedule:
• 13:00-14:00: Letter writing
• 14:00-15:30: Screening of the Oscar-winning documentary "Mr. Nobody Against Putin" (2025). The film follows Pasha, a Russian primary school teacher and videographer, who secretly documents the war propaganda and military indoctrination taking place at his school following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
• 15:30-16:00: Letter writing

Coffee, tea and snacks will be served during the event.

You can write to human rights defenders including Ruth López from El Salvador, Imaan and Hadi from Pakistan, Owen Chow from Hong Kong, and Marwa from Egypt. Your letters give hope to those facing persecution and put pressure on authorities to stop human rights violations. When you're done, you can send the letter yourself or let Amnesty International send it for free.
