Twilight Hour - Nordic Literature Week 2026
Struer Bibliotek, Struer · 50 kr. · ≈ 7 €
Twilight Hour - Nordic Literature Week: Monday 9 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Struer Bibliotek, Struer. Tickets cost 50 kr.
This year's Nordic Literature Week theme is "Democracy in the North", and the book being read aloud at Skumringstimen is the Swedish novel "Those Who Will Drown in Their Mothers' Tears" (2018) by Johannes Anyuru. The novel depicts how a democratic society like Sweden can develop if its democratic values are not protected.
As in previous years, De Eventyrlystne host the evening: they tell stories, read aloud and entertain based on the book and theme. There will be music and singing, and along the way there is coffee, cake and candlelight - coffee and cake cost 50 kr.
Nordic Literature Week is a public reading event where literature from the Nordic region - linked to a shared theme - is read aloud simultaneously in week 46 across the Nordic countries, the Baltic states and other Nordic-interested institutions worldwide. The project is administered by Foreningerne Norden and aims to promote and strengthen public reading, Nordic literature and the Nordic storytelling tradition.
