Meet the Person - Theme Day with DH Struer: Thursday 3 December 2026, 14:00–17:00, Struer Bibliotek, Struer. Admission is free.
The library marks the UN's International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a Human Library, where you don't borrow books, but people.
Behind every disability stands first and foremost a person with interests, dreams, humor, family and work. An entirely ordinary everyday life, just lived on slightly different terms. Guests can borrow a so-called human book and sit down with that person over coffee, juice and a small cake.
There is room for good conversation and for questions you might otherwise not dare to ask. The conversation can certainly be about something completely different, because the human book might love knitting, singing, traveling or going for a walk in the forest.
Palle Lykke Ravn welcomes everyone at 2 p.m., and then the Human Library opens. You can also get a taste of some of the practical challenges that people with disabilities may face: there is an obstacle course to navigate in a wheelchair, and you can try to find your way blindfolded. The aim is to create moments of smiles, reflection and conversation about accessibility and the barriers that can arise in everyday life.
It is free, and you do not need to register.
