Johnny Dynamite plays post-punk with a raspy vocal, hard-hitting drum machines and retro-inspired synth layers - music for those who love modern new wave. Johnny Dynamite is a post-punk artist from Philadelphia, signed to Born Losers Records, and has established himself across three albums as a sharp storyteller and songwriter. The characters in his dreamworld are vivid, manic and steeped in nostalgia, painted over dark, atmospheric instrumentation by his raspy voice and lyrics that evoke lost youth, hopeless romance and teenage rebellion.

Dynamite blends multiple genres, drawing from different sides of subculture - some glossy new wave, some grand rock'n'roll. The beat-driven production is built on hard-hitting drum machines, guitar riffs with 80s vibes and dreamy, retro-inspired synth layers. His sound has been compared to Pet Shop Boys, INXS and The Cure, as well as newer acts like MGMT and M83.
