Since his debut with the memoir novel 'Kalak' in 2007, Kim Leine has written about forbidden feelings and inner conflict in raw, sensory language full of detail. Whether writing about people or society, his prose carries a power that has made him popular with both readers and critics.

In 'Olavs hus', the first book in the trilogy 'Kors og kød', he turns to his Norwegian family history and tells of poverty, religious awakenings, and a longing to break free from his own past.

At this author evening, Kim Leine speaks with literature consultant Lise Vandborg about the opposing forces that pull at human nature. The conversation starts from the new novel but will also touch on the rest of his body of work.
