Who Are We When Everything Goes Dark?

Who Are We When Everything Goes Dark - DR experiment: Saturday 24 October 2026, 14:00–14:30, Fredensborg Bibliotek, Fredensborg. Admission is free.

DR's new programme and experiment "When Everything Goes Dark" investigates what happens when electricity, water, heating and internet disappear without warning.

In the experiment, 10 Danes move into five adjacent apartments. They know they are participating in a TV experiment, but not what it involves. After a few hours, the power goes out - and doesn't return for three days.

The programme follows the participants as they try to manage daily life without light, running water, internet, refrigerator, stove or a working toilet. Resources are scarce and unevenly distributed, raising the question of whether each person fights for themselves or helps one another.

Participants and the producer of "When Everything Goes Dark" come to Fredensborg Library to share their experiences, discuss emergency preparedness and the importance of community, in a talk arranged in collaboration with DR. Free with ticket.

The ticket also grants access to a day pass for Emergency Preparedness Day - collect both tickets via the Emergency Preparedness Day link.
