Ulug Bek has got the job, he has got the passport - now he just needs the DNA. He is one of two comedians from Uzbekistan performing in Denmark. He studied in Sweden, settled in Denmark, and fell in love with Scandinavia. He has spent years integrating: he cycles, he sorts his waste, he sunbathes. Yet he still struggles with the language, gets confused by week numbers, and has no Danish friends - something that doesn't seem to bother him much. The question is whether a transfusion of Viking blood is his last chance to become Scandinavian.

PURE VIKING BLOOD is a stand-up show where Ulug tells stories of his victories and defeats - mostly defeats - with dry observations about integration, Danish office culture, and life in this part of the world. The show is aimed at expats who are almost integrated and at Danes curious about an outsider's perspective on themselves. There's a good chance you'll recognize yourself somewhere along the way.

By day, Ulug Bek works as a data analyst; by night, as a comedian. He has toured with over 20 sold-out shows in Denmark, including ALMOST DANES and ALMOST DANES 2 with Kriti Prajapati and Adrian Mackinder, and has also performed at Fringe festivals in all Nordic countries.
