Small Crawling Creatures and Bonfire Coziness at Helgenæs

Small Crawling Creatures and Bonfire Coziness: Sunday 18 October 2026, 13:00–15:00, Knebel.

In the old, winding apple orchard on Helgenæs lies a small, fascinating world that children and adults can explore together. With cardboard and flour in hand, we go on a spider safari among the fruit trees to find nature's own little superheroes.

We bring life to webs that are otherwise hard to see, and find the large wheel spiders. We search for lightning-fast spiders in the tall grass and carefully look for what hides under the rough bark of the trees. Along the way, we also learn how spiders actually help the apple trees by keeping pests away.

When the discovery tour is over and we have greeted the orchard's small residents, we gather at the bonfire site. Weather permitting, we light a fire and pop popcorn over the embers.

Practical info: dress according to the weather and wear shoes that can handle grass and moisture. We provide everything for the bonfire and popcorn.
