DR journalist Maja Flinthøj, who has covered defence, emergency preparedness and societal crises for several years, hosts this conversation with Mads Koch Hansen, former hospital director at Sygehus Lillebælt.

As director, he led the response to numerous crises - including a power outage on the neonatal and intensive care units, water shortages and failing telephone systems. He was also in charge at Sygehus Lillebælt when Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen shut down Denmark in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Through personal accounts and concrete anecdotes from these events, Mads Koch Hansen offers insight into how decisions are made and operations kept running during a crisis.

The event is part of Emergency Preparedness Day and takes place in Glashjørnet at Aalborg Main Library.
