Across the Universe

Across the Universe - musical production: 19 October – 23 October 2026, Køge Gymnasium, Køge. Tickets cost 100 kr.

Køge Gymnasium's annual musical is back. Around 100 students bring this year's production to life - a free interpretation of the Beatles musical film Across the Universe.

Jude travels from England to the USA to find his father, but discovers much more along the way. He meets Max, Lucy, Prudence and other young people, all searching for their place in a changing world. Friendships, love affairs and conflicts develop as 1960s America is shaped by the Vietnam War, political protests and the struggle for a better world.

As the war draws closer, the young people must take a stand for what they believe in and what they will fight for. Love drives them forward but also challenges them, and it becomes clear that it is not easy to hold on to each other when the world is changing around them. Across the Universe is about youth, love, friendship and hope - and about finding your own path, even when the world seems to be in flames. Perhaps in the end, "All You Need Is Love".

The production runs in week 43: Monday 19/10, Tuesday 20/10, Thursday 22/10 and Friday 23/10. It is shown in Salen and starts at 19:00 every day. Doors to Salen open at 18:45, while the bar opens at 18:30.
