Author Lecture with Anders Ibsen
Ølstykke Bibliotek, Ølstykke · 50 kr. · ≈ 7 €
Anders Ibsen's debut novel is titled "Sirius - Det, som overfalder dig" - a thriller set against a terrorist attack on Aarhus Airport. A Danish aircraft carrying 72 hostages lands on the abandoned military base Mestersvig in Northeast Greenland, and the Danish state has no answers. Only one option remains: a former patrol leader from the Sirius Patrol with just days to resolve the crisis.
The novel draws on Ibsen's own years in Northeast Greenland, where as a young man he was deployed by the Defence and spent four years as a patrol leader in the Sledge Patrol Sirius - far from any human settlement. The book alternates between international high politics, historical perspective, and classic suspense.
Ibsen notes that early readers described the book as "a good story", while new readers today call it "disturbingly realistic" - a development he finds rewarding as an author.
The lecture takes place in the Hall beneath Ølstykke Library.
