Classics in New Interpretations - Beatles, Dylan, Beach Boys: Sunday 8 November 2026, 16:00–17:30, Kirke Hyllinge Kirke, Kirke Hyllinge. Tickets cost 200 kr.
Bjørn Fjæstad and brothers Jens and Peter Hellemann have formed a new trio presenting powerful reinterpretations of songs from The Beatles, Bob Dylan, and The Beach Boys - numbers familiar from the Hellemann brothers' theatre concerts. Under the title "Classics in New Interpretations", the trio now tours Denmark's churches with songs about love, doubt, hope, and change.
The Hellemann brothers have produced numerous theatre concerts, and their interpretations are said to give audiences the experience of hearing these well-known songs as if for the first time. Bjørn Fjæstad is a singer and frontman in Baal and part of DR's Rytteriet; he has previously appeared in several of the brothers' theatre concerts and weaves the music together with anecdotes and stories between songs.
The concerts are created with the church space in mind. The room's acoustics give the songs a different resonance and greater thoughtfulness, and the trio's vocals, string instruments, and keyboards create a nuanced soundscape.
The programme includes Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'", "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and "I Shall Be Released", The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows" and "Help Me, Rhonda", and The Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun", "I Me Mine" and "All My Loving", among other classic songs.
