Christmas Concert with Den gamle Sangskat
BRØK, Copenhagen · 110–220 kr. · ≈ 15–29 €
Christmas Concert with Den gamle Sangskat: Sunday 13 December 2026, 20:00–22:00, BRØK, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 110–220 kr.
Some songs never get old. They endure because the melodies are strong, the lyrics touch the heart, and they can be sung again and again in new ways. When Den Gamle Sangskat plays this year's Christmas concert at BRØK, nostalgia meets classic Danish radio hits and Christmas standards.
The trio - Sara Grabow, Martine Madsen and Eva Skipper - lovingly tend to Danish musical heritage. It's not the folk-song tradition, but rather the great treasure of Danish evergreens, many of which were originally foreign hits adapted into Danish. With three-part vocals, ukulele, guitar and double bass, they create a jazzy, acoustic sound with a touch of Scandinavian minimalism: the arrangements strip down to the essential and give familiar melodies room to be experienced anew.
For the Christmas concert, naturally the Christmas songs take centre stage. They swing through "Winter Wonderland" and "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus", while "There is nothing in the world as quiet as snow" stands simple and beautiful. And there will likely be room for a Sleigh Ride - in Den Gamle Sangskat's own Danish version, "Kanetur".
