Children's Culture Festival in Dianalund

Two days, two cities: the Children's Culture Festival 2026 takes place at Dianalund Library and Borgerhus on Friday, August 28 (3:00 PM-6:30 PM) and at Sorø's Green Stage on Saturday, August 29 (10:00 AM-12:30 PM). The programme is the same at both locations and is aimed at children and their families.

Each day begins with singing and movement, followed by a performance of "The Egg" by The Little World's Theatre - a story about seeds sprouting, eggs cracking and hatching, and the surprise of what emerges. Afterwards, there are one and a half hours of creative workshops, and the day concludes with group singing where the children's creations take centre stage.

The workshops are identical in Dianalund and Sorø. Artist Ida Exner leads an egg workshop where children create an egg with a bird or fantasy figure inside. The library offers rattling eggs made from recycled materials, Sorø Art Museum invites visitors to decorate stones with markers, and Sorø Museum features blooming troll crowns - you can also get your head painted like a troll. Sorø Music School provides instruments, and participants can play along during the finale.

The festival is a collaboration between KulturKaptajner, the Library, Sorø Music School, Sorø Art Museum and Sorø Museum, as well as artists and associations, and is supported by Sorø Municipality's Fund for Cultural Purposes.
