Shiraz String Quartet - On Life and Death: Wednesday 10 February 2027, 19:30–21:30, Viborg Musiksal, Viborg. Tickets cost 50–220 kr.

Shiraz Quartet performs works by Jón Leifs, Szymon Laks, and Franz Schubert, exploring the relationship between life and death through music. Leifs' String Quartet No. 1 bears the title "Mors et vita" ("Life and Death"), while Schubert's contribution is String Quartet No. 14, known as "Death and the Maiden". Szymon Laks' String Quartet No. 3, "After Polish Folk Songs", was written in 1945, shortly after Laks was liberated from the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Shiraz Quartet is an international string quartet dedicated to creating community through classical music. The ensemble features Yuval Nuri Shem-Tov from Israel and Carlotta Combis Clara from Spain on violin, Toke Hansenius from Denmark on viola, and Lavinia Scarpelli from Italy on cello.
