Should you watch the solar eclipse over Stevns?

On August 12, 2026, you can see a partial solar eclipse where over 80% of the sun's disk is covered. The eclipse begins at 19:10, peaks at 20:03:39, and ends around 20:53 - just around sunset.

When you register, you receive a set of solar eclipse glasses, and the first 50 registered participants can also get a small book about the eclipse.

Partial solar eclipses are fairly common - the most recent was March 29, 2025, and the next one is August 2, 2027. A total solar eclipse over Denmark, however, is much further away: it won't happen until 2142.

Before the event, there is an opportunity to eat food you bring with you at Flagbanken, in the grill hut, or elsewhere nearby.
