Frederiksberg · 0 kr.
Marseille - Ordinary Place symposium: Monday 9 November 2026, 15:00–16:30, Frederiksberg. Admission is free.
A discussion about Marseille - one of France's most iconic cities: beautiful, cosmopolitan, often unfairly portrayed, and home to nearly a million people trying to get by and move forward. What can Marseille's history tell us about social dynamics in contemporary France and the country's place in the world?
The lecture opens with researchers from France and Denmark sharing their perspectives and analyses of life in Marseille, drawing on sociology, urban anthropology, and socio-spatial governance. The academic presentation is followed by an open discussion with the audience, in English.
The event takes place at Institut Français du Danemark, room 4, Monday, 9 November 2026, 15:00-16:30.
Participants:
- Dennis Rodgers, professor and A*Midex Excellence Chair, Aix-Marseille Université (France)
