An Old Man
Hovedbiblioteket, Skive · 100 kr. · ≈ 13 €
Actress Lene Poulsen reads from Kirsten Thorup's novel "Ingenmandsland" - a novel about aging, dementia, and losing control of one's own life.
At the center is Carl, a man with dementia in a nursing home, convinced he will soon go home. Reality is different, and decisions are now made by others. We follow both Carl and his adult children, who disagree about what is best for him - particularly his daughter Ellen, who struggles to accept her father's situation.
After the reading, there will be a coffee break followed by approximately 30 minutes of discussion with Lene Poulsen as moderator, where there is an opportunity to discuss the dilemmas raised by the novel.
The event is aimed at relatives, professionals, and others interested in the subject. Admission: 100 kr. including a refreshment. Arranged by Ældresagen in Skive-Spøttrup-Sundsøre and Skive Library.
