Vadym Krasnookyi is founder, lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of the band MAD HEADS, which he started in 1991. The band is one of Ukraine's most well-known rock groups, blending ska, reggae, rockabilly and other styles with a Ukrainian character. They have performed over 1,000 concerts in Ukraine and toured in 12 countries, released eight studio albums and more than 30 music videos, and their songs have over 70 million views on YouTube combined. Songs like "Nadiya Ye" (There Is Hope) and "A Ya Na Mori" (And I'm at the Seaside) are well-known in Ukraine and beyond - the latter is set as a ringtone for over 2 million Ukrainian mobile subscribers.
In May 2026, the band released the song "Pro liubov" (About Love) as part of the project "Zbyti Rymy" (Fallen Rhymes), where poems written by soldiers are set to music. Vadym Krasnookyi is currently on a solo world tour, "Nadiya Ye" (There Is Hope), in support of Ukraine's armed forces. Since 2024, the tour has included over 150 concerts in 17 countries, including Europe, USA and Canada.
