Vesthimmerlands Musikhus ALFA in Aars takes its name from the four largest towns in the region - Aars, Løgstør, Farsø and Aalestrup. The building was designed after an idea by artist Per Kirkeby and completed in 2008. Its concert hall seats 420 and is acoustically optimised for music. The programme ranges from jazz, classical and pop to theatre, stand-up and lectures, and the venue also provides music education for the local upper secondary school and music school.
