Embraced by a Mother's Heart

Carolyne Kaddu Rasmussen is an author, nursing science graduate, and mother of five. Born in Uganda, raised in Kenya, she is known from the TV2 programme "Helt Sort", where she appears alongside her son Melvin Kakooza. Her second book is titled "Embraced by a Mother's Heart".

In this lecture, she shares how a tragic family event in Denmark prompted her to travel to Uganda and begin mapping the history of the women in her family - and the connections she discovered to her own life. As a Danish-married mother, she speaks from her own experiences with motherhood, femininity, and family history across the two countries.
