Portraits of Prominent Women from the Skive Region

Gallery Kunst i Grønning and Skive Folkeblad invited readers to nominate prominent women from the area who deserved a portrait in public space. 28 women were nominated, and 2,781 people voted on the three who would be honored with a portrait painting.

The choice fell on Marie Poulsen, Nanna Aakjær, and Inger Marie Jensen - better known as Pølse Rie.

The portraits were painted by Tove Lois Andreasen, known for her photorealistic works and previously having portrayed Kim Larsen, Mette Frederiksen, and Mikkel Hansen. The project is supported by Skive Municipality through the Culture Fund.
