The State of Democracy: Social Media — Hovedbiblioteket i Aalborg, Aalborg

Over the past 25 years, Danish society has changed dramatically: inequality has grown, digital development has transformed the media landscape, the pace of Danish politics has accelerated, and international currents shape everyday life. The conditions for democracy have shifted - and this calls for a reassessment.

Lecturer Jakob Linaa Jensen examines what social media and its use mean for news coverage, public debate, and journalism - and thus for politics and democracy.

The lecture is part of Magtudredningen 2.0, whose results are published in the book series Magtudredningen 2.0 by Aarhus University Press and presented in the podcast Jagten på magten.

Venue: Foredragssalen
