Fordybelse: A Moment of Reflection on Deep Focus

Deep focus is something many long for - but what does it really mean to immerse yourself? Why is it sometimes easy and other times incredibly difficult? And does deep focus happen in the same way whether you're reading, playing music, gardening, or philosophizing?

Researcher and author Kristiane Hauer gives a lecture on the conditions of deep focus: why it is hard to achieve, and why it requires time, space, and practice. The lecture is based on the book "Tænkepause: Fordybelse" (Aarhus University Press 2025).
