Overlooked Funen Authors: Morten Korch

This event focuses on Morten Korch from South Funen, today best known for film adaptations of his novels.

At age 14, he was sent from his childhood village idyll in Over Holluf near Odense to a merchant farm in Nyborg to apprentice. His books revolve around Danish rural life, ethics, the Danish character, and the will to persevere through hardship - set against golden wheat fields, horses, and farm machinery, with characters struggling with family problems and secrets that slowly unfold and eventually resolve.
