Concert with Rudersdal Chamber Soloists: Transformations - Rilke in memoriam

Transformations - Rilke in memoriam is a memorial concert with Rudersdal Chamber Soloists, marking the centenary of Rainer Maria Rilke's death in 2026. Rilke was one of the 20th century's most important German-language poets, and his poems will be read aloud during the concert.

Actor Thomas Bang will perform the readings. Rilke's poetry continues to gain influence and resonance.

The programme features music by Gustav Mahler, Ejnar Kanding, and French composer Jean Huré (1877-1930). Both Mahler and Rilke return to death as a theme. Kanding has worked extensively with Rilke for many years and has composed music to his poems. Huré was roughly contemporary with Rilke, and they shared a fascination with nature, sensuality, and mysticism.
