100 Years of Jazz in Denmark

100 Years of Jazz in Denmark - TS Høeg: Friday 4 December 2026, 19:00–21:00, Hvidovre Hovedbibliotek, Hvidovre. Tickets cost 45 kr.

TS Høeg has published "Jazzinistisk jubilæum", a personal tribute to Danish jazz on the occasion of the genre's 100th anniversary in Denmark. In November, the publisher Multivers follows up with his four-volume work on experimental jazz, rock and everything in between - which he himself calls a broad book about narrow music. The volumes explore lesser-known aspects of Duke Ellington's and Miles Davis' careers and Danish No Wave history from 1975 to 2025. There are also portraits of the most important musicians in TS's own jazz history, as well as theories and tricks for the aspiring musician.

TS Høeg is a driving force on the alternative Danish music scene. He has released over 30 albums as a soloist, orchestra leader and composer, and has also written 18 works of fiction. This evening he tells stories about music history and plays jazz.

The event is part of the library's theme "Know Your Jazz" and takes place in the venue Scenen.
