Reading Circle on "Open Sky"

A reading circle discussing Jonas Eika's novel "Open Sky" takes place at Glostrup Library as a prelude to the author meeting. Participants will discuss their reading experience under the guidance of literature facilitator Kirsten Vestergaard Mikkelsen. The reading circle is held the same day as the author talk.

After the reading circle, there is an opportunity to have a sandwich and then walk together to Glostrup Parish Church, where the author conversation takes place.

"Open Sky" is a historical novel of 705 pages set in Liège, Belgium, unfolding from Easter to Easter in 1233-1234. We follow a group of beguines - a kind of nuns who lived as free women without being subject to the church. The main character Ida begins to have religious visions and gradually and reluctantly emerges as a prophet. Jonas Eika received the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 2019 as the youngest ever.
