Kim Fupz Aakeson's novel "The Shadow Before Me" begins with a single question: how do you move forward after serving 12 years in prison for murdering your wife? The novel has just won the DR Novel Prize.

This evening, Kim Fupz Aakeson talks about the work behind the book, which portrays a man who is morally condemned for life - yet must still continue living after his sentence ends.

The novel explores guilt and forgiveness, and whether it is possible to have a future at all when you have committed murder.
