Author Meeting with Karin Slot Christiansen

Karin Slot Christiansen grew up in western Jutland, and nature and rural life shape her literary work. Her love for the region and its people runs through her novels as a central theme.

Her debut "The Birds Sing Backwards" (2021) and its sequel "The Angel in the Sea" (2023) are both psychological coming-of-age novels. Beyond the existential dilemmas between the main characters Vicki and Katrine, the books explore themes such as biodiversity, industrial agriculture, unfulfilled dreams, and ego-driven pursuit of status. Both novels have become bestsellers.
