Workshop: "The Play of Light and Contrasts of Darkness"
Skaberværket invites children and their adults into a labyrinth of transparent walls where you can experiment with light, colours and shadows. Cut your own figures, place them on the walls and explore how light transforms them - move the figures around, change the position of light sources and watch the shadows grow, shrink or change colour. With coloured light and music, you can create your own images and stories.
The workshop is open to children, families and other curious visitors. There is no fixed start time - come and go as you please during the two hours.
Preparation in week 32: At Skørping Library's creative table, you can cut creatures, silhouettes and nature motifs from black paper in advance. Bring the figures to the workshop on 12 August, or hang them ready in the room so they are prepared when the lights come on.
The workshop is designed as a prelude to the solar eclipse on 12 August 2026. That day the moon will cover approximately 80-86% of the sun - the largest solar eclipse in Denmark in many years. The eclipse begins just after 7 p.m. and peaks around 8:00-8:05 p.m.
