Song Evening with Grundtvig

Give Library and Give Egnens Choir present an evening where Jacob Vestager Tybjerg explores N.F.S. Grundtvig's hymns and songs - not as historical curiosities, but as texts that still pose questions about meaning, dignity, and what it means to live a human life.

Tybjerg is a folk high school teacher at Uldum Folk High School and works with song and storytelling as a path to community and understanding of life. He has contributed to the Folk High School Songbook with the melody to "Solhverv", written together with his sister Margrethe Vestager.

The programme alternates between his storytelling, piano playing, and communal singing. Give Egnens Choir sings and carries the songs forward, so the audience can join in.
