Alternative Fashion Week CPH

At Union in Copenhagen, designers working with sustainable design and circular business models gather for what the festival calls a Fashion Agora - a space for direct dialogue between the audience and the creators behind the clothes.

This year's theme is "Class Divide", which runs through the entire programme: access to power, resources and influence is shaped by invisible barriers and closed networks, but a new generation is challenging these structures, overconsumption and old power dynamics. The festival exists in the tension between inequality and rebellion.

The programme features a deconstructed catwalk that blends theatre with classic fashion show, as well as talks, panel discussions and workshops focused on design, craftsmanship and sustainability. Models wear outfits created by designers and partners associated with AFW CPH.

The festival actively distances itself from trend culture and throwaway mentality, collaborating with actors who prioritize upcycling, reuse and rights in both values and practice.
