Debut Fest: Vølve

Vølve is the musical project of Danish composer, vocalist and sound artist Helene Navne. The name draws from the völva, a contemporary archetype - one who senses the emotional state of the present moment and transforms it into music, sound and shared experiences.

Her performances weave together song, spoken word and electronic music in what she calls a magical circle. The soundscape moves between soft cellos, bells and trip hop beats, with lyrics written in multiple languages that explore mythology, vulnerability, feminine strength and transformation. As a listener, you are invited into the ritual as the energy carrier you are; but you don't have to do anything specific - you can simply listen.

The single Les Trois Amies was selected as "Release of the Month" by Hun Solo, and the project has been compared to Agnes Obel, Kate Bush and Patrick Watson. The music appeals especially to listeners of Lana Del Rey, Agnes Obel, Eivør and deep beats.
