Wheel-Throwing Course: A Potter's Methods
BRØKs Keramikværksted, Copenhagen · 2650 kr. · ≈ 355 €
This course is designed for ceramicists who want to work more systematically and precisely at the wheel. The goal is to master the production of functional ware - cups, bowls, plates and teapots - in both classical forms and in a design language inspired by New Nordic cuisine, with emphasis on repetition and series production.
The instructor is Bjarne Christensen, a trained potter from the Design School at Kolding Institute for Unique Works. He has over 50 years of experience as a professional ceramicist, has run his own studio, collaborated with ceramicists Jesper Packness, Per Bo and Gurli Elbækgård, and taught at Guldagergaard - International Ceramic Center.
The course covers the entire process: clay preparation, throwing, assembly, trimming and glazing. All work takes place in high-fired stoneware clay at BRØK's Ceramic Studio in Copenhagen.
